Tracking Settings Tab

OneClick Cart Emptier Tracking Settings tab framed

OneClick Cart Emptier comes with a handy feature, which is the ability to track the click events on the WhatsApp button on Cart page (and only on Cart page, doesn’t work with any other WhatsApp buttons on your entire site).

Since this is only a Beta feature comes built-in, you might expect some issues.

But upon my testing, there were no issues at all, and all tracking events are recorded as expected. But it might not work perfectly on some WordPress installations.

Please be advised that tracking features are only Beta features. Tested and worked out on my experiment, but might not work perfectly in your case.

You can track the click event(s) of the WhatsApp button on the Cart page via Facebook Pixel and Universal Google Analytics.

Important! Make sure you have installed both Facebook Pixel & Universal Google Analytics tracking scripts in your site.

Facebook Pixel Tracking

The checkboxes under this section if ticked, will add additional onClick tracking event(s) in the WhatsApp button.

I. ‘Purchase’ Tracking

If you tick the Enable ‘Purchase’ Tracking? checkbox, the plugin will treat and send signal to Facebook Pixel tracking that the click of the WhatsApp button is the indication of a purchase completion.

Official Facebook’s Explanation:

The completion of a purchase, usually signified by receiving order or purchase confirmation, or a transaction receipt. For example, landing on a Thank You or confirmation page.

The plugin will add additional onClick event contained tracking script similar to the following:

E.g. fbq('track', 'Purchase', {value: 0.00, currency: 'USD'});.

Where value will be automatically set as the total price of the Cart content(s), and currency will set to default currency you are using.

II. ‘Initiate Checkout’ Tracking

If you tick the Enable ‘Initiate Checkout’ Tracking? checkbox, the plugin will treat and send signal to Facebook Pixel tracking that the click of the WhatsApp button is the start of a checkout process.

Official Facebook’s Explanation:

The start of a checkout process. For example, clicking a Checkout button.

If you want to treat the WhatsApp button on the Cart page similar to Checkout button, then it will be a perfect choice for you and your store.

The plugin will add additional onClick event contained tracking script similar to the following:

E.g. fbq('track', 'InitiateCheckout');.

Google Analytics Event Tracking

You can even track event measurement in Google Analytics. eventValue will be filled automatically with the numeric value of the Cart content(s) total price.

All fields i.e. Event Category, Event Action, and Event Label are required to be filled, otherwise, the plugin will not work in tracking the click using the Google Analytics Event Tracking.

This would be the example tracking output:

ga('send', 'event', { eventCategory: 'WhatsApp Button', eventAction: 'Click', eventLabel: 'WhatsApp Purchase', eventValue: 45});

eventValue will be automatically filled with the Cart content(s) total price, so you don’t need to fill it manually.
